Tour: Wildlife Safari In The Mayan World

Kayak in the ocean lanes used by ancient Mayan traders, inside the barrier reef, in the wetlands watching groups of the American flamingo. Snorkel the area's reefs and blue lagoons as well as with amazing animals such as whale sharks. Participate in the marine turtle conservation project in M?xico watching marine turtles come out to lay their eggs as well as releasing new born. Bicycle in the amazing Sian Ka?an Biosphere Reserve jungle, home to more than 345 species of birds, 100 mammals and a very wide diversity of plants and animals. Sian Ka?an reserve has more than 1.5 million acres protected. Walk the ruins and climb the temples of Tulum, Cob?, and other Mayan sites that reveal the engineering genius and the worldview of the ancient Mayan cities that ruled southeast M?xico and Central America. Discover the fantastic underground rivers (cenotes) with crystal clear waters full with stalagmites and stalactites. Eight days of wonderful wild life and nature experiences!

DAY 1 | Arrival and de-briefing
Pick up in the airport and transfer to Ojo de Agua Hotel or similar in Puerto Morelos. Briefing about activities, security measurements and important information. Dinner in the hotel.


DAY 2 | Kayaking in the barrier reef
After breakfast, we equip you with your kayak and you enjoy a few hours of kayaking inside the barrier reef to your own private spot in the reef where you can admire a wide diversity of corals and fishes. After lunch, we go hiking in the botanical garden and learn about Maya plants, trees and enjoy a wild population of spider Monkeys. Optional night snorkeling in the reef. Enjoy a unique chance to snorkel at night watching an alive reef. [B,L,D]


DAY 3 | Archeology and snorkling in one day!
After breakfast, we depart to Tulum archeological site for a facinating visit. We then snorkel in the great Gran Cenote with crystal waters full with stalagmites and stalactites. We have a nourishing Lunch in Tulum town in Don Cafeto Mexican restaurant and move on towards Sian Ka�an Biosphere Reserve research station where we chek in. After an early dinner, we set off for a night hike in the jungle of Sian Ka�an Biosphere Reserve to enjoy the animals and sound of the jungle after night. [B,L,D]


DAY 4 | From birds to crocodiles
Early risers can go out at dawn and admire the birds before breakfast, before getting on bikes for an expedition through the reserve enjoying unique wild life. After lunch, we depart towards Cob� and check in there at Club Med Cob�. At night, we become adventurous and go search for crocodiles by the Cob� lagoon. [B,L,D]


DAY 5 | Sea turtles nesting
After an optional birdwatching hike in Cob�, we visit the unique Cob� archeological site. Then we hike in the site for about 3 miles discovering the great Nohoch Mul (the tallest pyramid in the Maya World of Mexico). Back to the hotel ewe njoy a swim in the pool before lunch We depart towards Holbox island inside Yum Balam protected area and arrival at Chiquil� where we do a boat transfer to Holbox. During the boat ride, we pass by bird island to enjoy this fantastic island in the afternoon. Late afternoon, we check in Faro Viejo hotel or similar and have dinner there before an amazing axperience; searching at night for marine turtles laying eggs on the beach. We watch the release new born marine turtles and you get a certification of adoption of your newborn marine turtle! [B,L,D]


DAY 6 | Snorkel with whale sharks
Early departure by boat to look for whale sharks, big mantas and dolphins. We then snorkel with whale sharks. The snorkeling will depend on the whale sharks letting us get close. Normally they are feeding and if we get close without disturbing them we can get to swim and snorkel with them. We get a collation of fruit, juices and sandwich during the boat trip. And have our real lunch at the hotel before a hike in Holbox town. In the late afternoon and evening, we enjoy a unique expedition in kayak with crocodiles in the wetlands. [B,L,D]


DAY 7 | Kayaking with rare birds
After breakfast in the hotel, we enjoy a fantastic kayak expedition with flamingos, pelicans, cormorans, egrets, herons..and you see them all from the seat of your kayak! After a nice lunch and the "adopt a palm" ceremony, we depart towards Cancun where we check in Rey del Caribe hotel or similar and enjoy dinner in Los Bisquets [B,L,D]


DAY 8 | Good bye Mexico...
Transfer to the airport depending on flights back. [B]
