Tour: Jaguar Adventure

This tour will plunge you in the life of the jungle. Hiking in the subcaducifolius fores, wetlands or dunes, looking for jaguar tracks. Camping in the amazing Sian Ka�an Biosphere Reserve jungle, home to more than 345 species of birds, 100 mammals and a wide diversity of plants and animals. Sian Ka�an reserve has more than 1.5 million acres protected. Snorkel the area's reefs and blue lagoons. You will also walk through the ruins, and climb the temples of Santa Rosa that reveal the engineering genius and the worldview of the ancient Mayan people that ruled southeast M�xico and Central America. Discover the fantastic ecosystem of hammocks (peten) a unique community of jungle trees in the middle of wetlands

DAY 1 | Beginning of the adventure
Pick up in the airport and transfer to Santa Teresa Research station in the middle west access of Sian Ka�an Biosphere. Briefing about activities, security measurements and important information. Dinner in the station.


DAY 2 | Experimenting biodiversity research
Breakfast in the station followed by a few hours of working at biodiversity activities in the subcaducifolian forest Hike in the wetlands after lunch, following animals tracks or animal traces. Dinner in research station. [B,L,D]


DAY 3 | Tracking the animals
Rising with the sun, we catch the birds at first light After breakfast in the station, we start searching animal tracks in the forest trials After lunch, we hike in the forest looking for animals tracks or animal traces. After dinner, we get back on the trail for a night hike searching for more animal traces. [B,L,D]


DAY 4 | Hiking in the deep jungle
After breakfast in the research station, we depart toward Zigual where we have lunch. We continue our hike towards Bahia del Espiritu Santo, at the same time looking for animals traces and tracks We set up camp in the jungle and have dinner there before setting up for another amazing night hike tracking animals traces [B,L,D]


DAY 5 | Snorkling with dolphins
For the courageous and early risers, we get up at 6AM to go and watch the birds before breakfast. Then we learn more biodiversity activities in the subperennial forest. We then hike in the forest towards Bahia Espiritu Santo and spend a couple of hours snorkeling before a late lunch in Maria Elena town. We then depart to Bahia de la Ascenci�n, searching for manatees, dolphins and turtles. We arrive later in the afternoon in Vigia Chico. [B,L,D]


DAY 6 | Discovering the barrier reef under water
After breakfast at the research station, we depart to Puerto Morelos to Ojo de agua Hotel We then snorkel in the second largest barrier reef of the world in Puerto Morelos before a nice lunch at Posada Amor In the afternoon, we hike in the botanical garden and learn about Maya plants, trees while enjoying a wild population of spider Monkeys We rest for dinner in Posada Amor [B,L,D]


DAY 7 | Back to reality...and home
Transfer to the airport depending on flights back.
