Tour: Costa Rica Red Hot Fury & Cool Green Jungle

[Back to Eco Tours]

Mystical waters, lush rainforests, and volcanoes make up this Costa Rican jaunt. It begins in the capital San Jose with its mixture of colors and sounds. Tour its many museums and people watch in the plazas while sipping some of the best coffee around. Then, ease into the Costa Rican countryside. Volcanoes, mountains, craters, rainforests, and hot springs sprout from the land in glorious pastoral settings. Walk near an active volcano crater and experience the Earth?s magnitude. Arenal Volcano still boils and bubbles to this day and your guide will point out all its red, hot fury. Cool off and swim in the changing waters of the Celeste River near the Tenorio Volcano. It?s not called Celeste for nothing?celestial in nature?watch its flowing waters turn from crystal clear to heavenly sky blue. Travel into the Talamanca Mountains and be among the rivers and the rainforest--much of it primary, untouched rainforest, so it?s ripe for exploration from below and above. Then, climb to the top of a tree and float across the rainforest canopy and when you come back down, take your pick of a plethora of activities--horseback riding and hiking to river wading and nature walks. Selva Bananito Lodge and Preserve will be your home. This highly regarded ecolodge ensures your every comfort and maintains a harmonious balance with nature, with preservation as its goal. Your patronization of the lodge benefits the Fundacion Cuencas de Limon; a conservation group dedicated to the rainforest and local community development.
