One of the "must do" experiences while staying at Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa is to enjoy the dining experience at Bilngkumu Restaurant. The expertise of our internationally acclaimed Chefs will have you surrendering to what many state is the true Australia tropical gourmet cuisine.

In keeping with the tradition of the Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa and in consultation with the local Aboriginal Ku Ku-Yalanji people the menu has been carefully designed to balance the multicultural tastes of cosmopolitan Australia with the abundance of unique and exotic sundrenched Queensland fruits, tropical reef fish and local produce with native and indigenous nuts, berries, flowers, leaves and seeds from the property and thus the worlds oldest living rainforest and with an understanding of the Aboriginal Dreamtime.

Select from innovative menus - tropical buffet breakfasts featuring a medley of exotic fruits, delicious light lunches and evening meals to delight the most discerning palate. With nature integrated into every aspect of the property, bush tucker and ginger collected on the property is used to create sensational signature meals and featuring light and healthy spa cuisine for the guest who enjoys delicious meals in line with good health and wellness.

Bilngkumu Restaurant, with it's balcony terrace, overlooking the peaceful fresh water lagoon is accessible from your individual rainforest villa via elevated boardwalks through the lush rainforest. It is uniquely crafted to compliment the rainforest setting and capture the serenity of the fresh water stream flowing beneath.

The name "Bilngkumu" is the local Ku Ku Yalanji Aboriginal word for crocodile, a large wooden crocodile hand painted by Aboriginal artist Verity Gurruwwiwi features in the restaurant. Other authentic Aboriginal artifacts are displayed in the restaurant and are available for purchase? take a little culture home!






Undoubtedly Australia's most unique spa, featuring a carefully chosen selection of body wraps, massages, beauty treatments, and a state of the art Vichy shower. Kelda Maloney (Director of Tranquillity), is on hand to tailor make your personal journey into revitalisation. Surrender to the experiences from the luxurious Elemis range or the exclusive Indigenous Li'Tya range, where Australia's natural resources are combined with Aboriginal techniques and treatments. Travelling time by road from Cairns Airport is 90 minutes, with the fully sealed Cook Highway offering a feast of scenery ranging from secluded palm fringed tropical beaches, hidden coves and rugged headlands, the rich green of lush canefields, through to the mist shrouded rainforest clad mountains. Rated as one of Australia's top 10 scenic drives.

Follow the highway north past the Port Douglas turnoff, and follow the signs to Daintree. No turn-offs or ferry crossings are required.

Self-drive: Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa is easily accessible, a 90 minute scenic drive on the sealed main highway takes you from Cairns towards Daintree Village. No 4WD or ferry crossing needed. A wide selection of companies offer competitive hire car rates on application.
