[Back to Eco Tours]

The name Peru comes from a Quechua Indian word implying "land of abundance", and abundance is exactly what you will find in this incredibly diverse South American country. Peru has three eco-zones that couldn't be more different: the arid Costa on the west, the rugged Andes in the center, and the wet and forested Montaa of the Amazon basin in the east.

The Peruvian Andes are arguably the most beautiful mountains on the continent and remain home to millions of natives who still speak the ancient Quechua language. In the hills, you can hike the Inca Trail to the ancient sanctuary of Machu Picchu or get to know the local contemporaries. If rainforest exploration is more your thing, we offer some spectacular jungle treks under lush Amazonian canopy. And the often-overlooked Peruvian coast is home to some of the most pristine bird and marine sanctuaries in the world.
