Destination: Alaska, U.S.A.

[Back to Eco Tours]

Just how big is this state? Try these numbers on for size: It would take only four Alaskas to completely cover the rest of the country. Its 45,000 miles of coastline are longer than the rest of the United States' combined. What we´re trying to say is, in Alaska, you won´t run out of room to explore.

The "Last Frontier" is indeed an ecotraveler's paradise. No where else in the United States will you find so much untrammeled nature. Clear, salmon-filled streams, snow-capped peaks, and miles of preserved forest. Alaska also has one of the largest animal populations on Earth: more than 40,000 grizzly bears, thousands of bald and golden eagles, orcas, otters, and we won´t try to hide mosquitoes the size of small birds. But, hey, what are few bug bites for an experience this spectacular? Even during summertime, Alaska's awe-inspiring scenery is bound to give you chills.
